Step-by-step instructions for activating RimuSDR with your license code and callsign.

Activation Process

After purchasing RimuSDR, you will receive a license code via email. Follow these steps to activate your installation.

1. Launch RimuSDR
Open the RimuSDR application from your application menu, or run rimusdr from a terminal.
2. Open the License Menu
In RimuSDR, navigate to Help → Activate License from the menu bar.
3. Enter Your Information
Enter your license code (from the purchase email) and your callsign in the activation dialog.
4. Complete Activation
Click Activate to submit your license. You should see a confirmation message when activation is successful.

Single License

Single-User License

Each license is tied to one user and callsign.

  • One license per callsign
  • Up to 10 active installations
  • Lifetime updates included
  • Perpetual license - no subscription
Activation

Online Activation

Internet connection required for activation.

  • One-time online activation per computer
  • License verified with activation server
  • Stored locally after activation
  • No ongoing internet requirement to run

Connection Issues

If you receive a connection error during activation:

  • Check InternetVerify your computer has an active internet connection
  • Firewall SettingsEnsure RimuSDR is allowed through your firewall
  • RetryWait a few moments and try activating again
Invalid License Code

If your license code is not accepted:

  • Check EmailVerify you're using the exact code from your purchase confirmation email
  • Copy/PasteCopy the license code directly from the email to avoid typos
  • Case SensitiveLicense codes are case-sensitive
Callsign Issues

If you receive a callsign error:

  • Correct FormatEnter your callsign exactly as registered
  • No Extra CharactersDon't include slashes or other modifiers
  • Match PurchaseUse the same callsign you provided during purchase

Transferring Your License

Moving RimuSDR to a different computer or reinstalling your system.

Deactivation Required
To move your license to a different computer, you must first deactivate RimuSDR on the current computer. Go to Help → Deactivate License before uninstalling or switching computers.
10 Computer Limit
You can have RimuSDR activated on up to 10 computers at once. If you reach this limit, deactivate on one computer before activating on a new one.
Reinstalling
If you reinstall your operating system without deactivating first, the computer will still count toward your 10 activation limit. Contact support if you need assistance.
Lost License Code
If you've lost your license code email, contact support with your callsign and purchase information to retrieve it.
