Genius Products

RimuSDR supports three 4O3A Signature station accessories: the Power Genius XL amplifier, the Tuner Genius XL antenna tuner, and the Antenna Genius antenna switch.

The three are not reached the same way, and that difference decides what you have to set up.

Devices reached through the radio

The amplifier and the tuner connect to the radio, and the radio reports them to RimuSDR. There is nothing to configure. When the radio reports the device, RimuSDR shows its status button and its panel; when the device goes away, both disappear.

This also means the amplifier and tuner are available over SmartLink, because everything travels on the radio's own connection.

Devices reached directly

The Antenna Genius does not connect to the radio, so RimuSDR talks to it over the network itself. It finds the device on your local network, or connects to a stored address for a switch at another site.

Because this is a separate connection, it works whether or not a radio is connected, and it is not carried over SmartLink.

The amplifier's fan mode is the one exception on the amplifier side. The radio does not carry it, so RimuSDR opens a second, direct connection to the amplifier to read and change it. See Power Genius XL.
