Tuner Genius XL¶
The Tuner Genius XL (TGXL) is a 4O3A Signature automatic antenna tuner. Like the amplifier, it connects to the radio, and the radio reports it to RimuSDR. Nothing has to be configured.
When the radio reports a tuner, a TUN button appears in the panel button row on the right of the main window, along with the TUN status button in the top bar.
The TUN status button¶
The TUN button in the top bar shows the tuner's state.

| TUN over OPERATE, in green | The tuner is in circuit and matching. |
| TUN over BYPASS, dimmed | The tuner is in circuit but bypassed. |
| TUN over STANDBY | The tuner is not in circuit. |
Click the button to step through the states, in this order:
- Standby
- Operate
- Bypass
- Standby again
Hold the pointer over the button to see the tuner's IP address.
The tuner panel¶
Click TUN in the panel button row to show or hide the tuner panel. The panel is titled TUNER GENIUS XL.
Meters¶
- Forward power
- Power passing through the tuner, in watts.
- SWR
- Standing wave ratio the tuner sees.
Tuning elements¶
Three readouts show the matching network the tuner has selected. Each has a bar and a number.

The values are what the tuner reports. They change when the tuner finds a new
match, and read 0 when the tuner is not in circuit.
Buttons¶
- TUNE
- Starts an AutoTune cycle. The tuner searches for a match on the current frequency.
- BYPASS
- Moves the tuner between operate and bypass.
AutoTune transmits
An AutoTune cycle keys the radio to find a match. Make sure the antenna is connected and it is safe to transmit before you press TUNE.
